CFL postpones the start of training camp

The CFL will be postponing training camp until further notice.

Commissioner Randy Ambrosie released a statement Monday morning, saying the COVID-19 pandemic has made holding training camps unsafe for teams and players.

Ambrosie was non-committal in a date to resume play, saying “as for our future plans, we are in the hands of our public health officials, the advice they are providing governments, and the directives those governments are issuing to us all, and we acknowledge their timetable will be dictated by the virus itself.”

Rookie camp was scheduled to start May 13, with main training camp to start May 17.
