(Jamie) The Nasty By-Product Of Washing Your Hands Too Much

This non-stop washing of my hands, coupled with the constant application of sanitizer, is wreaking havoc on my hands.

I can’t remember my hands being so dry. Skin is starting to crack in certain areas and I’ve even developed a slight rash on my right hand between my thumb and forefinger. It’s like any bit of moisture my hands can muster up is being sucked dry every time I roll up to the sink, which is constant, from dawn to dusk.

Another constant is my wife telling me to use moisturizer, which I do, but only before going to bed each night. That way the moisturizer will actually get a chance to be absorbed by my skin. Why use it during the day? I’ll only end up washing it off every time I wash my hands. It seems to be a vicious circle. I’ve heard others complain about having the same problem, so I know I’m not the only one going through this.

Over the years I’ve found that the best solution for dry skin is a vacation in a nice humid tropical location.

Anybody have any idea when the next flight out to Puerto Vallarta might be?
