Grocery stores are considered essential and remain open as Saskatchewan continues to try and limit the spread of the COVID19 virus. On Saturday when the province announced 11 new cases bringing the total to 231 (5o in Regina), they also released some information on how grocery stores should be operating.
While many of the procedures have already been put in place at many stores, the information is something the government is hoping retailers and shoppers will do moving forward to protect both workers and customers.
One thing customers can do is not bring reusable bags to stores at this time and to maintain physical distancing while watching the aisles as they have become one way for the foreseeable future.
The document from the government comes after one Regina grocery store shut its doors last week after an employee tested positive for COVID19. After a thorough cleansing was given to the Superstore location in the Golden Mile, the store re-opened on Friday.
