CN moves record amount of grain in March

CN Rail has set a new March record for grain movement.
Executive vice president Sean Finn says 2.65-million tons of grain were moved last month, up from the record 2.4-million set in March three years ago.
“You can see, we’ve done a pretty good job here,” said Finn. “More importantly, during the month of March, in our grain plan we typically target 4,150 spotted cars . We have done, over the last three weeks, over 6,400 cars per week.”
Finn says grain movement has mostly caught up from illegal winter blockades by anti-pipeline protesters.
He says CN is only 176,000 tons of grain behind last years pace.
