Yesterday morning I had to run to the grocery store and stock up on some essentials. I got to the grocery store the minute it opened it’s doors. I figured if I wanted to avoid running into a lot of people, the earlier the better.
Last week a listener called in to suggest one-way shopping aisles. It sounded like a good idea, but I was a little leery as to whether or not that idea could be put into action. Apparently I was wrong. It seems now that every store has implemented that idea! I like it. One guy yesterday just didn’t seem to get it, or he just didn’t care. Each time I ran across him he was going the wrong way. I felt like telling the guy, “Hey man, follow the rules.”
With community transmission suspected in a few new cases of COVID-19, I almost feel as though I’m playing Russian roulette just going out for groceries. I have always enjoyed grocery shopping, but now I cringe at the thought of having to go out. I used to stop by the grocery store every day. I’ve been out only twice in the last week or so. I’m in and out as quickly as possible.
I’ll be so happy when this thing is finally over. I’ll never take something as simple as grocery shopping for granted anymore!
