Summer hours at Regina landfill start next week

The city of Regina is announcing the landfill and yard waste depot will start summer hours on April 13.

The depot will be open from 7 AM until 7 PM seven days a week including statutory holidays with entry gates being closed 15 minutes prior to closing thus allowing vehicles to unload and exit by closing time.

Because of COVID19, those neding the landfill are asked to keep physical distance from anyone outside of their households while at the facility and to try and avoid cash with all payment being done by debit or credit card if possible.

The self-serve Yard Waste Depot, located south of the Fleet Street Landfill, enables residents to drop off leaves, plants, garden waste, twigs and non-elm branches to become
compost.

Yard Waste Depot Guidelines:
• Use paper yard waste bags or reusable containers.
• Plastic bags are not compostable. You will need to remove your yard waste from
plastic bags at the site.
• Tarp and secure loads when transporting.
• Commercial loads are not permitted.
• No dump trailers or dump trucks.

In 2019 2,660 tons of yard waste was collected at the Yard Waste Depot.
