WCBL says final decision on cancelling 2020 season won’t come until June

The WCBL season is still just under two months away, but planning for a delayed season due to COVID-19 is underway.

Although there is no final decision at this time the leagues board of governors have set numerous dates for when decisions will need to be made.

For a full season to occur, May 2nd will be the final date for a go ahead to take place.

The league says there is also provisions of a shortened season that would begin around Fathers Day or Canada Day.

Governors also agreed that if by early June, the health and safety risk is still to great to determine a starting point, the 2020 season would be cancelled.

Last year the Regina Red Sox fell in the league final to the Okotoks Dawgs.
