This Easter was a little different than past ones. Usually we have a big family gathering in Craven with 20 people or more. It’s always a fun time, especially for all of the kids, who spend a good chunk of the afternoon on an Easter egg hunt before we all settle for a delicious meal.
This year we still got together, just not in person and without the food.
Everyone got onto their devices on Saturday afternoon and video conferenced. We all filled the rest of the group in on everything, from how we were keeping busy during self isolation, to how the kids were spending their Easter. It was actually quite fun. I don’t imagine we were the only ones doing that this weekend.
Yesterday, my wife and I cooked up a turkey with all of the trimmings for our own little Easter celebration. It was the first turkey we cooked up at home in a long time and it was yummy. We even managed to drop off a couple of care packages!
So, just like the days following Christmas and Thanksgiving, it looks like I’ll be eating turkey sandwiches for the foreseeable future.
