Ministry of Justice assigns independent observers to investigate Regina woman’s death

Saskatchewan’s Ministry of Justice has brought in two independent observers to investigate the death of a 32-year-old Regina woman on Friday night.

At around 10:30 p.m., police were sent to the intersection of Victoria Avenue and St. John Street where they found an injured woman in distress and in need of medical care.

The Regina Police Service reports when officers began to approach the woman, she was vomiting blood onto herself and on the sidewalk, however there didn’t appear to be any external injuries.

Since her condition was worsening and EMS had yet to arrive to the scene, officers made the decision to transport her to a hospital nearby. She died in hospital at around 11:00 p.m.

Regina Police say there was no evidence of foul play at the scene and there is no evidence to suggest her death was the result of a criminal act.

RPS are asking anyone with information regarding this incident to contact Regina Police or Crime Stoppers.
