Police in Prince Albert say they are investigating the death of a three-year-old girl who they say was a victim of homicide.

On April 8, police were called to a home in the city after a report of a person in cardiac arrest.  Upon arrival, the girl was found unresponsive with life-saving efforts attempted while she was rushed to hospital in the city.  The child was then transferred to the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital where she was declared dead the next day.

An autopsy was completed on Tuesday, but the cause of death was not released by police.  While an arrest has not yet been made. police are saying this was not a random incident and that the girl and suspects did know one another.
