Three men arrested after incident Thursday night

Three young men are facing weapons and theft-related charges after an incident Thursday night.

At approximately 9:30 pm, Regina Police identified a stolen vehicle traveling in North Central Regina. Officers deployed a spike belt on the 800 block of Rae Street, when the driver continued to  drive erratically to try and flee police.

The vehicle eventually came to a stop of the 700 block of Robinson Street, where the three occupants of the vehicle ran away on foot.

Police were able to locate one of the suspects immediately and found that the man was in possession of two knives.

As a result of the arrest, 25-year-old William Scott Desnomie, from Balcarres, was charged with carrying a concealed weapon (x2), and failure to comply.

Meanwhile, the K9 Unit continued to search for the other suspects. The search led to a house on the 700 block of Rae Street. Officers found the two men inside.

One of the men, a youth, was in possession of a firearm.

As a result, the 16-year-old was charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm, property obtained by crime over $5,000, and failure to comply.

21-year-old Kwniel Nikeila Whitehawk has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

Desnomie and Whitehawk are set to make their first court appearance Friday afternoon.

The 16-year-old is also scheduled to appear in court on Friday.
