Fond du Lac RCMP say they’ve charged 19-year-old Jacob John Pacquette with second degree murder and aggravated assault after the death of an 18-year-old man in the remote northern community.

Police were called to the scene early Saturday morning after an altercation took place between several people at a residence.

When officers arrived they found an injured 18-year-old man identified as Skylar Smith, who died in hospital from his injuries. A 19-year-old woman was woman was also found injured, she has since been released from hospital.

RCMP say the investigation is still underway with an autopsy scheduled for Monday in Saskatoon.
