Regina Police charge drunk driver who struck tree

A 19-year-old man from Regina is facing a number of charges following a collision early Saturday morning.

Police were dispatched at around 1:30 a.m. to Massey Road after a report of a vehicle that struck a tree. The accident involved 19-year-old driver Sean Michael Pelletier and passengers ages 20, 21 and 21.

The scene of the accident was blocked off by police as firefighters needed to free Pelletier from the vehicle. All four occupants were then taken to hospital after sustaining injuries from the incident.

An investigation into the collision led to the arrest of Pelletier who was charged with three counts of impaired operation causing bodily harm and three counts of dangerous driving causing bodily harm.

He appeared in court on these charges on Monday morning.
