Riders sign former Georgia Bulldog DL Trenton Thompson

The Riders are adding to their depth on the defensive line by signing University of Georgia defensive tackle Trenton Thompson to a contract.

The 6-foot-3, 295 pound Thompson played three years for the Bulldogs recording 127 tackles and six sacks in 37 games. He was a part of the Bulldogs team that lost the 2018 National Championship game in overtime to Alabama.

In 2016, the 23-year-old was named the defensive MVP of the Liberty Bowl after he recorded three sacks in a 31-23 win over Texas Christian University.

After finishing at Georgia, Thompson spent time with the NFL’s Cleveland Browns, the AAF’s Arizona Hotshots and the XFL
