With the uncertainty surrounding COVID-19, events that were scheduled for months from now are starting to be cancelled.
The latest cancellation announcement comes from Regina Folk Festival, which was set to go August 7th to 9th.
The festivals interim executive director Josh Haugerud said despite more recoveries than cases as of late, they felt it was better to be safe than sorry.
“Even with good numbers there’s talk that mass gatherings won’t be allowed until there is a vaccination or some sort of treatment, that information has been coming from different sources like the federal government.
Haugerud said their decision has received overwhelming amounts of support.
