Associate Finance Minister helping Regina Chamber members learn about federal assistance programs

An online town hall was hosted before the weekend with members of the Regina and District Chamber of Commerce and Associate Minister of Finance Mona Fortier.
It was an opportunity for members of the Regina business community to learn more about federal programs during the COVID-19 crisis and provide feedback on what has been offered by the federal government so far.
This comes after the Saskatchewan government announced their plan to reopen the province’s economy over the coming weeks.
Fortier says this is good news for businesses, but it will be important to have a coordinated approach.
“We really want our economy to get going, but we also know that we’ll have to be very careful in how we will do it, we’ll be in different phases,” said Fortier. “Having conversations and ongoing discussions with the provinces, the territories, even the municipalities of what that will look like.”
She expects plans won’t be the same across the country among the provinces and territories, but she reiterated the importance of following restrictions and regulations recommended by health officials.
