A COVID-19 outbreak at the Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert has been announced after a patient that’s been at the facility since April 21st tested positive for the virus.
The Saskatchewan Health Authority says there’s no evidence of transmission within the facility at this time, but the patient tested negative before entering the facility for another medical need.
At this time, the Victoria Hospital emergency unit is open, and one person has been transported to an ICU in Saskatoon.
All staff that worked closely to the positive patient are self-isolating, and an investigation, which includes contact tracing, is underway.
