Regina man facing impaired driving charges after Saturday night vehicle collision

A 76 year-old man has been charged with impaired driving charges after a collision that took place Saturday night.

Police were called to the 4100 block of Preston Crescent for a report of a collision with injuries, where it is believed a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle that proceeded to drive into a closed garage door at the front of a residence, as well as the vehicles inside of the garage.

Police located an injured woman at the scene who was taken to hospital with serious, but not-life-threatening injuries. The suspect was located inside of the vehicle, and was arrested.

76 year-old Shangara Gill faces two charges: impaired operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm and failure or refusal to comply with demand when in an accident causing bodily harm. He will appear in court July 8, 2020.
