Regina Police say six individuals were taken into custody Thursday night, after the SWAT unit conducted an operation at a residence on the 1600 block of Toronto Street.

Pedestrians and motorists were asked to avoid the area, while those living near by were asked to shelter in place.

Officers say an updated news release will be sent out once charges have been laid.

Police added the situation ended peacefully.
