Sasktel wants to help you connect with mom this Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day 2020 has arrived, and it looks a lot different than we’re used to thanks to COVID-19.

As a result of physical distancing, Sasktel’s usage numbers are all an all-time high, and with Mother’s Day being one of the busiest days of the year, the demand will be even higher.

Lindsay Mazenc with Sasktel, says that the company is doing a few things to make sure people can connect with their moms.

“The network is being closely monitored to make sure the data capacity is adequate to handle any increased demand that we’re seeing, and that even greater increase in demand that we’re anticipating Sunday,” said Mazenc.

Mazenc also shared some tips on how to have an enjoyable virtual visit with your mom.

“If you’re doing a video call with your mom, make sure you have a nice bright spot where you can be clearly seen with minimal background noise, make sure you have comfortable spot, and make sure your camera is at eye level, so your mom can get a great view of you,” said Mazenc.

SaskTel’s usage numbers have jumped across all lines of services since mid-March due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The most noticeable increase in recent weeks has been with SaskTel’s Wireless data.
