Seniors struggling to pay bills thanks to increased expenses during the COVID-19 pandemic, will soon have help from Ottawa.

About 6.7-million seniors who receive old age security and the guaranteed income supplement will now be getting a one time, tax free top up.

Seniors who receive old age security will get $300, and there will be a one-time payment of $200 for those who receive the guaranteed income supplement.
