CN Rail sets new April grain movement record

CN Rail is reporting a record movement of grain during the month of April.

Executive vice president Sean Finn says CN moved 2.73 million tons of grain to ports, slightly exceeding its previous April record of 2.72 million tons.

CN faced a week-long strike in November and winter blockades which disrupted grain shipments.

Finn says CN grain movement this crop year so far is 20.7 million tons, slightly less than last year’s 21.55 million metric tons.

He adds CN is well prepared to move large amounts of grain to market this year.
