COVID-19 puts Regina’s Canada Day celebrations on ice

In a move that shouldn’t be considered surprising, those behind the annual Canada Day celebration in Wascana Park say this year’s event has been cancelled due to COVID-19.

The announcement comes days after Lieutenant-Governor Russell Mirasty announced Canada Day celebrations at Government House would not be held this year.

The annual celebration in Wascana Park drew thousands of people with the day taking part in activities for young and old. The day traditionally ended with a fireworks display.
