I don’t know where time goes when you take a vacation, but it certainly seems to go by a little quicker than when you’re at work!
It seems like yesterday that I pulled out of the station parking lot looking forward to 10 glorious days off. This morning was the first time I cursed at my alarm clock in over a week. We’d become such good friends over the course of the last week or so. I hadn’t bothered it and it hadn’t bothered me. It was sad to see that friendship end so abruptly at 2:30 this morning.
It might not have seemed like a long vacation, but it certainly was a productive one. The two major tasks that I wanted to get accomplished were wiped off of the “to do” list by midweek.
I spent all Monday getting the painting done that I’d been putting off for too long. My wife loved it, which meant I loved it too! On Wednesday I was up early running around getting everything I needed to get our flowers planted. By lunchtime that task was put to bed as well.
The food department was also a success. I barbequed nearly every night! Yummy.
It might not have seemed like a long vacation, but it certainly was a good one.
A little bit of fun, a little bit of work, and lots of good food. That’s a pretty good combination in my books!
