Severe thunderstorm warnings out in SW Sask; air quality advisories out in central SK

It’s a day to keep your eye on the sky in some parts of Saskatchewan.

Environment Canada has severe thunderstorm watches and warnings out for the southwestern part of the province as a system from Montana rolls into the province. This could produce strong winds, heavy rain and hail over some areas.

As well, the weather office has put in place a severe thunderstorm warning for Outlook, Watrous, and surrounding areas.

An air quality advisory has also been placed by Environment Canada  on Saskatoon and other areas because of a forest fire which is spreading smoke throughout the region.

Individuals may experience symptoms such as increased coughing, throat irritation, headaches or shortness of breath. Children, seniors, and those with cardiovascular or lung disease, such as asthma, are especially at risk.

People with lung diseases, such as asthma and COPD, can be particularly sensitive to air pollution.
