Unifor says they are exploring their options when it comes to escalating their complaint against Regina Police.
In a news release, national president Jerry Dias says the police service’s loyalty to Federated Co-op has become reckless and could have cost lives after Unifor’s freedom of information request revealed they knew about a bomb threat made by an anonymous source.
Dias goes on to say police chief Evan Bray has made a “mockery” of the concept ‘to serve and protect’ by not telling Unifor members of the threats that were made back in February in a letter sent to Mayor Michael Fougere.
Dias also criticized Premier Scott Moe’s reaction to the lockout, which has been going on for well over five months.
Unifor is also exploring the possibility of a civil suit against RPS related to what the union is calling the restriction of ‘members’ rights to lawful picketing.’
