Police cruiser damaged in Melfort pursuit

Melfort RCMP are thanking the public in their help in tracking down a suspect connected to a vehicle chase that resulted in a police cruiser getting damaged.

Around 8:30 on Wednesday morning, the Melfort Combined Traffic Services tried to stop a speeding vehicle in Melfort, it didn’t pull over which led to a pursuit which in turn led to a collision between a police cruiser and the suspect vehicle.

The chase was called off in the interest of public safety. The vehicle was located abandoned in the RM of Willow Creek. Information that officers received led to the arrest of the driver later that night.

45 year old Gordon Webb of Melfort is facing charged numerous charges including Flight from Police and Operation of a Motor Vehicle While Prohibited.
