COVID-19 isn’t going to stop a Regina community association from staging some entertainment for the family this summer.
Summerbash is put on by the Albert Park Community Association, but it is an event for the entire city. It has been going on for the past few years in Harbour Landing at Fairchild Park.
Part of Summerbash is a makeshift drive-in theatre and that is the plan this year with the only difference being it will be a summer-long affair.
Volunteer chair Adam Hicks says the drive-in will be at the University of Regina.
He says “Its a great spot, easy to access from the ring road, basically anywhere in the city”
“That is a great spot. It is easy to access from the Ring Road from basically anywhere in the city.” Hicks said. When you buy a ticket, it will have the full map of how to get in to Lot 1, and that ticket will get you more than a movie as there are plans for entertainment about 60-90 minutes before the show starts.
The first movie night is slated for June 12. Some of the movies that will be shown include “Moana”, “Ant-Man” and the Breakfast Club.
