Update – Unifor members have set up an informational picket line near Stenen and other locations across Saskatchewan

Update – Unifor members, locked in a dispute with the Co-Op refinery in Regina over pensions, have members set up in front of a Co-Op farm fuel tank near Stenen, north of Canora.

Brian Morken was hauling grain past the location early Tuesday morning, and said there were at least ten union members at the site.

“There was probably six or seven vehicles, and then they got road cones set up with vehicles and cones blocking the entrance and exit.”

Morken said the tank farm supplies Norquay, Preeceville and gas bars in Canora.

Local 594 President Kevin Bittman said there is no blockade at all, adding it is one of five informational picket lines set up around Saskatchewan on Tuesday.

Bittman says trucks will be able to access fuel once they listen to information on the current lockout situation between FCL and Unifor.

Stenen is about 81 kilometres north of Yorkton.
