He says NRGene is setting up an office in Saskatoon and will spend over 5 million of dollars on farm research in the next 2 to 3 years.
The Saskatchewan government says NRGene is a genomics AI company, providing turn-key solutions to support agricultural research and breeding.
The province says NRGene’s supplies some of the largest farm-based companies in the world with computational skills to improve breeding of crop plants and farm animals.
NRGene’s tools have been used by leading seed, farm chemical and ag biotech companies as well as influential research teams.
NRGene has been involved with the Saskatchewan government since 2015 in efforts to boost wheat yields as well as other prairie crops.
NRGene will recruit skilled geneticists and data scientists to their new office in Saskatoon.
