As many expected, Country Thunder Saskatchewan is cancelled for 2020, becoming the latest major event to fall victim to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In a news release issued on Tuesday morning organizers say they are now planning for 2021.
Country Thunder spokesperson Gerry Krochak says ticket holders for 2020 will have those tickets honored in 2021.
“I think the big thing is we want fans to know that their tickets for 2020 are going to be honored in 2021, they don’t have to do a thing,” Krochak said. “The other big question is going to be the line-up, what we’re doing on that right now is just waiting for some conformation.”

Krochak said more information will be released on June 12th.
It goes without saying that cancelling the annual event in Craven stings a little more than other locations because of Country Thunder’s origins.
“Hopefully we’ll have some good news next Friday, and good things come to those who wait and I guess we’re just going to have to wait a little longer,” Krochak said.
As for the 2021 festival, organizers hope to make it an outstanding exceptional weekend.
“I think it’s going to be even more special,” said Country Thunder Saskatchewan CEO and Regina native, Troy Vollhoffer. “This is where we come from and this is where it all started.
“We want to thank all the fans in Saskatchewan for their patience, loyalty and enthusiasm as we navigated details for next summer. We look forward to delivering the kind of world-class experience that the greatest country music fans anywhere have come to expect.”
