The Conexus Arts Centre has been a place where many graduation ceremonies and dinners have been held over the years
They still want to do that despite the fact COVID-19 has halted those things from happening as before.
The facility is offering a grad package on June 12-13 in which you can get a photo taken along with a keepsake and a takeout meal for $30 with additional meals for families also available.
Leo Pantel is the executive chef at Conexus Arts Centre. He says grad is a huge moment for kids so they wanted to continue to bring them a memory.
“This has been a venue that has been very important over the years to Grade 12 students.” executive chef Leo Pantel said. “This is a stepping stone in their lives and we decided to give them a red-carpet service in which they can come in and get a grad photo, a selfie, a keepsake and a meal. We had a lot of discussion as to how grads will be able to celebrate and acknowledge this milestone in their life. Whether they go to University or not, graduating is a major part of them moving into adulthood so after throwing some options around, we came up with this.”
Pantel says this may not provide the experience grads wanted, but it gives them something that they can hopefully remember. He adds the response has been fantastic.
“This shows there is a definite need for something like this.” Pantel said. “It has been amazing to see how many have already signed up. Judging by the response we are getting, we are probably going to have look at some other dates as well.”
