U of R getting creative with virtual convocation

Under normal circumstances Friday would have been the final day of the U of R’s annual spring convocation ceremonies.
With COVID-19 cancelling the traditional celebrations the university has come up with some creative ideas to celebrate the accomplishments of its graduating students this spring.
The U of R’s Paul Dederick says graduating students will receive a virtual message of congratulations that will also be broadcast on Access7.
“We are commissioning a video tribute to out graduates that will include video remarks from our Chancellor and our President,” said Dederick. ” That video will be posted later this month on the university website, and broadcast on Access Communications as well.”
Other initiatives the U of R is taking to commemorate grads include the creation of a virtual yearbook, that will allow grads to stay connected, making virtual “electronic swag” available on their website, and launching the #UofReginaGrads2020 social media campaign where community members can post congratulatory messages.
