Regina man charged in firearms incident in North Central

Regina Police have charged a man in connection to a firearm incident Late Saturday afternoon.

Police were called to the corner of 1st Avenue and Cameron Street, where a man was reportedly seen carrying a firearm.

Police located a suspect who was carrying a gun on the 700 block of Robinson Street. The man appeared agitated and was waving the firearm around. After orders from police to drop the gun, the man left the gun on the ground and fled to a nearby house. Police gained entry into the residence and after a brief struggle, the man was arrested. The firearm was later determined as an airsoft gun.

35 year-old Vincent George is charged with possession of a firearm and resisting arrest.

George appeared in court Monday.
