Regina home builder recognized as one of nation’s best

A local home builder has received national recognition as one of the best builders in Canada.

Munro Homes was recognized at the Canadian Home Builders’ Association (CHBA) 2020 National Awards for Housing Excellence, where they won awards for their home in the Creeks, and another home on Quinn Drive.

President of Munro Homes, Colin Chorneyko, says that to have two of the best homes in the country, in what many people consider a small city, is a huge step for the company.

“It’s huge for us, and I think it’s huge our entire city, and our entire province,” said Chorneyko. “To show that we’re not just the little guy, that we can compete with all these other builders in all these other cities across the country.”

“It’s super exciting and we’re just proud to be a part of it.”

He says the design of the homes is what pushed them over the top, and named two of the best in Canada.

“We’re always trying to find what’s new and what’s the next trend, rather than just working on what the trend is at that time,” said Chorneyko. “We’re really trying to think outside the box and get ahead, maybe a year or two, on what the trends are going to be versus just now.”

Chorneyko says that these awards show that the future of the housing market in Regina is bright.

“It’s an exciting time just for our city, and everybody in the city,” said Chorneyko. “To know that the homes that you’re living in, are built to a higher standard, as compared to all across Canada.”

He adds that the housing market’s momentum is picking up again post-COVID-19
