Regina man facing several weapons charges after Saturday night arrest

On Saturday, Regina Police observed a man walking in the 2900 block of 5th Avenue with a large knife in a sheath strapped to the front of his chest, from a strap on his backpack.

The man was arrested for a weapons offense investigation.

It as discovered that the man was on a probation order, under conditions to not possess any weapons, including knives.

The man was arrested and transported to detention.

In custody, police searched the man’s backpack and found ammo, zip guns, firearm parts, tools, and drugs.

23-year old Dallen Desjarlais has been charged with possession of a scheduled substance, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a firearm knowing it’s unauthorized, weapons trafficking, possession of a firearm, prohibited weapon, possession of a prohibited firearm with ammo, 2 counts of possession of a weapon or ammo contrary to a probation order, possession of a weapon, and failure to comply.

Desjarlais is set to make his first court appearance on Monday morning.
