Wheat Growers Association celebrating 50th anniversary with new book

Warriors for Wheat is the name of a book celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Western Canadian Wheat Growers Association.
Editor Alanna Koch farms east of Regina at Edenwold and says the book highlights numerous farm policy issues raised by the Wheat Growers since the formation in 1970.
“It is such a jam-packed book, full of facts, history, and great stories about really significant events in the industry,” said Koch. “It’s filled with all kinds of stories about the impact and the influence that the Wheat Growers had for their 50 years.”
Among the issues raised by the Wheat Growers included changes to grain freight rates and the Canadian Wheat Board.
The Western Canadian Wheat Growers have scheduled the annual meeting for Regina November 24th and 25th.
