Four teen girls charged after stolen vehicle incident

Four under age girls as young as 12 are facing charges after a stolen vehicle incident in Regina Monday afternoon.

Just before 5:30 p.m. police were called to the 3700 block of Regency Crescent for the report of a suspicious vehicle.

While en route officers observed the suspect vehicle near Elphinstone and Argyle Street and attempted a traffic stop.

The vehicle fled the scene but moment later crashed into a garage in the alley behind the 700 block of Cameron Street, the occupants fled on foot and were arrested with the help of a K9 unit a short time later .

A 15 year-old female youth, who cannot be named in accordance with provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, has been charged with:

• Theft of Motor Vehicle [CC 333.1 (1)];

• Possession of Property Obtained By Crime Over $5000 [CC 355 (A)];

• Flight From Peace Officer [CC 320.17]; and

• Fail to Comply With Condition of a Release Order [CC 145 (5)(A)].

A 14 year-old female youth, who cannot be named in accordance with provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, has been charged with:

• Theft of Motor Vehicle [CC 333.1 (1)];

• Possession of Property Obtained By Crime Over $5000 [CC 355 (A)]; and

• Fail to Comply With Condition of a Release Order [CC 145 (5)(A)].

A 13 year-old female youth, who cannot be named in accordance with provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, has been charged with:

• Theft of Motor Vehicle [CC 333.1 (1)]; and

• Possession of Property Obtained By Crime Over $5000 [CC 355 (A)].

A 12 year-old female youth, who cannot be named in accordance with provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, has been charged with:

• Possession of Property Obtained By Crime Over $5000 [CC 355 (A)].

All four females made their first court appearances on the charges in Provincial Youth Court on Monday, July 29, 2020) at 1:30 p.m.
