Mischief charges laid after several windows are broken in downtown Regina

A 28-year-old man is facing a number of mischief charges after a number of buildings and vehicles in the downtown area were allegedly damaged by someone throwing rocks.

Regina police say they were called just after 9:30 by someone reporting that a man was throwing rocks at vehicles and at City Hall, and both the provincial courthouse on Smith Street and the Court of Queen’s Bench building on Victoria Avenue.

As police were responding to the first locations, several more calls were received with damage being reported to vehicles and buildings on the 1400 block of Albert Street.

The man was found and taken into custody without incident. Police say he appeared to be intoxicated by alcohol and/or drugs.

Dylan Blacksioux of the Regina district makes a court appearance on the matter Monday afternoon.
