Regina man arrested after police pursuit leads to break and enter

Regina Police have arrested a 22 year-old man in connection to a break and enter that took place during a police chase early Sunday morning.

At around 2:15 Sunday morning, police attempted to pull a vehicle over at the corner of 5th Avenue and Wascana Street, but the vehicle evaded.

A spike belt was deployed near the corner of Elphinstone Street and 7th Avenue, but the driver left the vehicle and fled on foot, heading west.

Police then saw the suspect break into a house on the 1200 block of Argyle street. The owner of the house said he did not know who the suspect was. The man was found hiding in a bedroom and was take into custody, where it was discovered he was wanted by Yorkton RCMP for a robbery.

22 year-old Donovan Straightnose faces three charges, including flight from police and break and enter.
