With no current plans to keep the U.S border closed past July 21st as of now, many Canadians are hoping an extension of the closure will be announced in the near future.

A majority 86 percent of Canadians surveyed don’t want to see the U.S. border re-open later this month.

COVID-19 infection rates in the U.S. are continuing to skyrocket, while in Canada the curve appears to be on a downward slope nearly everywhere in the country.

The Leger poll also found 39 per cent of Canadians believe the worst is yet to come, while 35 per cent believe the worst of the crisis has passed.
