City of Regina announces grant program for local small businesses

It’s well-known small businesses in Regina have been hit hard by COVID-19.

With that being the case, the city is hoping to step in with some financial assistance.

At a meeting of the Executive Committee, a $2-million grant program was discussed.

Forty percent of that program would run from August to December, with the remaining 60 percent happening in 2021.

The money, which would come from the general reserve fund, would allow small businesses to apply for grants ranging from $1,000 to $25,000 if they meet the necessary criteria.

The program must be approved at the next meeting of City Council on July 27.
