Rams coach disappointed with USports age cap decision

A decision by USports Canada to not allow football players who will turn 25 by the time the 2021 season starts to play is one which has upset many across the country including the head coach of the U of R Rams.
Mark McConkey says this is a move that leaves him shaking his head.
“I don’t agree with the decision,” said McConkey.  “Lots of other coaches I’ve reached out to, we’re all in the same boat. It’s super disappointing that USports has decided to go this  way with it.”
McConkey says he has already spoken to U of R Athletics Director Lisa Robertson about what can be done to get that last year back.   There are six members of the Rams who as it stands now have played their last game because of the age cap restriction.
