Universal testing, increase in mental health and chronic disease management in Phase 3 of Sask. Health Authority service resumption plan

The Saskatchewan Health Authority is moving to Phase 3 of their service resumption plan Monday.

This will allow social detox and addictions inpatient treatment to resume, additional chronic disease management, wellness programs and stroke prevention, as well as specialized services for those with developmental disabilities, autism or brain injuries.

SHA CEO Scott Livingstone says in a news release that he is pleased with the health authority’s ability to bring services back online.

Phase 3 will also allow surgical volumes to move from 75 to 85 percent of pre-COVID levels, and medical imaging capacity is moving to 90 percent pre-COVID service levels.

Universal COVID-19 testing will also begin Tuesday in Saskatchewan, making testing available to anyone who wants to be tested regardless of symptoms.
