CN Rail sees record setting June for grain movement

CN Rail has broken four grain movement records this past month.
Executive Vice president Sean Finn says CN Rail has set a new crop year to date pace of 26.9 million tons, as well as best first half of the year, best quarter, and best month of June grain shipping figure.
He says CN moved a record 2.7 million tons of grain last month, breaking the old mark of 2.4 million.
“The supply chain has been working very hard and humming, everybody’s been doing their job very well,” said Finn. “We’re very pleased, our employees have come to work everyday through COVID-19, and realized that grain has to move. Some would say that we’re moving a lot of grain because other commodities are down, we have to remind people that there’s still other commodities moving, plus this time of year, we’re on our railways fixing the tracks.”
Finn adds CN Rail will be spending 105 million dollars in Saskatchewan this year to upgrade rails, ties and other track infrastructure.
