Severe weather watch for southeast and east central Sask

Environment Canada has issued a severe weather watch for southeast and east central Saskatchewan Monday afternoon.

Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain.

The areas in the southeast include Moosomin, Kipling, Grenfell, and Wawota.

In east central Saskatchewan, the severe weather watch includes Yorkton, Melville and Esterhazy and surrounding area.

The watch is for strong winds, heavy rain and hail.

A cold front tracking across eastern Saskatchewan and western Manitoba is triggering scattered thunderstorms Monday afternoon.

Some of these thunderstorms may briefly reach severe thresholds.
