Haying progress in Saskatchewan limited by widespread rain

Saskatchewan farmers made limited haying progress this week due to widespread rain.

Provincial crops extension specialist Sara Tetland says pastures and crops improved from the rain but the moisture delayed haying.

So far, she says 13 percent of the hay has been cut and 11 percent baled or put in silage.

Tetland says hay yields have been reduced due to dry weather in some areas but recent rains have rejuvenated many pastures and hay crops.
