Regina Police lay charges connected to violent robbery of food delivery person in May

Regina Police have charged a 30-year-old man in connection to the violent robbery of a food delivery person early in the morning on May 30th in the city’s east end.

Daniel Pinice Scott, from the Lestock district has been charged with robbery, forcible confinement and overcoming resistance by administering a drug.

Police say a 23-year-old man who had just made a delivery was sitting in his vehicle on his cellphone, when an unknown man knocked on his window.

When the victim opened his window, the man opened the vehicle door, taking the victim’s phone and then pulled him into a house.

It’s alleged the victim was taken to the basement, physically assaulted several times, and forced to inhale and ingest unknown substances, believed to be drugs.

The victim was forced to transfer money to his assailant and was then taken to an ATM and made to withdraw more money.

Police say Scott was arrested on Sunday, adding they are continuing to search for a woman also believed to be involved in the incident.
