Saskatchewan pounded by hail during past two weeks

Hail storms continue to pound crops across Saskatchewan.

The president of the Canadian Crop Hail Association, Rick Omelchenko, says Saskatchewan bore the brunt of crop hail claims in the past two weeks.

He says there were 2,000 prairie claims from July 6th to 19th.

He says the hail ranged in size from pea to quarter.

Omelchenko says hail storms damaged crop in over three dozen communities across Saskatchewan in the past two weeks including Creelman, Melville, Wawota, Edenwold, Milestone, Yorkton, Lipton, Kipling, Wolseley, Wynyard, Esterhazy, Odessa, Wood Mountain and Foam Lake.
