Regina Mayor sad to see city lose CFL hub bid

Earlier this week, Regina’s bid to host the CFL’s COVID-19 condensed season was defeated by Winnipeg’s bid.

It came as a big disappointment to Mayor Michael Fougere.

However, Fougere says he feels there are a couple of reasons why Winnipeg was chosen over Regina.

“I believe things like better air routes to Winnipeg would certainly be part of that, and they have more turf  than what we have here,” said Fougere. “They have four or five different locations, if not more. But I think the flight location, or the lack of flights to Regina, likely had something to do with it.”
